A Bothell resident driving to Park at Bothell Landing on the evening of August 14, expecting the outdoor movie the city has been promoting all month, will find a parking lot with plenty of open spots and no giant screen. The movie is real. It's simply across town on North Creek Parkway, not at the park most people mean when they say "the park." Bothell runs two separate summer series that both use the phrase "in the Park," and they do not share an address.
That mismatch is not a scheduling error. It is the actual shape of Bothell's August, and it is worth understanding before you plan around it.
Same Word, Different Park
Park at Bothell Landing, at 9919 NE 180th St, is where the city's Music in the Park series lives. Every Friday evening through the summer, the amphitheater there hosts a free concert. On August 7, the bill is Heart By Heart, featuring original Heart members Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier. On August 21, it's Nite Wave. Both start at 7 p.m.
Movies in the Park is a different program with a different venue. The August 14 screening of Black Panther runs at 11905 North Creek Parkway, starting around 8 p.m. as the sky darkens. Same city, same summer, same branding convention, different physical location entirely.
The overlap in language makes sense from a marketing standpoint. It makes less sense if you're the one trying to figure out where to point the car on a given Friday. The practical rule for the rest of August: if the flyer says "Music," you're headed to Bothell Landing. If it says "Movies," you're headed to North Creek Parkway.

Laid out this way, the pattern becomes clearer. Wednesday belongs to families with young kids. Friday splits between a concert crowd at Bothell Landing and, on one specific date, a movie crowd across town. The weekend nights belong to whoever wants something quieter and closer to Main Street.
The Friday That Doubles Up
August 7 is worth flagging on its own. That's the night Heart By Heart plays Bothell Landing at 7 p.m., and it's also the night Tyler McGinnis plays The Cottage at 6:30 p.m. Two live music options, roughly the same start time, opposite ends of downtown.
This isn't a conflict so much as a filter. If you want an amphitheater crowd, a lawn, and a band built around two members of a band most Bothell residents grew up hearing on the radio, Bothell Landing is the pick. If you want a smaller room, a seat, and a singer-songwriter set that doesn't require staking out lawn space an hour early, The Cottage is closer to what you're after. Two weeks later, on August 22, The Cottage brings in Dean Backholm on a Saturday, which gives that weekend its own smaller peak without competing against the Friday concert series at all.
Knowing this in advance means you're choosing based on what kind of evening you want, not scrambling to find parking at 6:45 because you assumed there was only one option.
Triangle Junction Is Building Something, Not Just Feeding You
Triangle Junction, the plaza near City Hall, does double duty as a gathering spot and as the city's testing ground for new small businesses. During the Fourth of July celebration, it hosted a rotating lineup of Bothell's Pop Shops alongside food trucks. That rotation isn't incidental. The city describes its newer Mobile Food Incubator Program as offering food entrepreneurs "a steppingstone for food entrepreneurs to follow their culinary dream" with guidance and support built in.
That framing matters if you're trying to figure out why the vendor lineup at Triangle Junction never quite repeats. A conventional food truck park keeps the same trucks in rotation because that's the business model. An incubator program is designed to move people through it, from a folding table and a tent toward an actual storefront. The vendors you see this month may not be the vendors you see next summer, and that's closer to the point than a flaw in it.
This sits inside a larger conversation the city just opened. On July 22, Bothell held a Downtown Subarea Plan Open House, inviting residents to weigh in on growth in the downtown core over the next 20 years. Triangle Junction's incubator function reads less like a one-off amenity and more like a small piece of that longer plan already in motion.
The Quiet Backup Night
Not every night in August needs advance planning. The bluegrass jam at Copperworks Distilling runs every Sunday afternoon into evening, informal enough that you bring your own acoustic instrument if you want to sit in, and low-key enough that it doesn't require checking a schedule against anything else happening that week. It's the one fixture in Bothell's summer calendar that never collides with Music in the Park, Movies in the Park, or the weekend lineup at The Cottage, because it owns a night none of them touch.
